by Suzanne RheinsteinOn Friday, May 13, 2011 The Friends of Robinson Gardens will welcome the public to their twenty-third annual 2011 "...into the garden" Tour. This year's theme is "Under The Tuscan Sun." As always there will be five extraordinary private gardens that all exemplify excellence in landscape architecture. After viewing these private gardens, guests will arrive at the historic Virginia Robinson Estate and Gardens in Beverly Hills for what many consider the garden party of the year. There is truly nothing like this event in Los Angeles.
The Robinson house is decorated for the party by prominent Los Angeles florists and designers. Each room is transformed into a world of color, style, and a bit of whimsy through floral arrangements and decor. Last year Los Angeles florist Marc Byrd decorated the dining room with Geary’s of Beverly Hills.
After touring the house, guests are then invited to enjoy a sumptuous lunch and high tea on the Great Lawn while watching a fashion show. There is a boutique on the Tennis Court featuring jewelry, clothing, hats, tableware, and plants. Guests also enjoy floral workshops, a silent auction/opportunity drawing, a botanical art exhibition in the Italianate Pool Pavilion, and book signings by Los Angeles authors. This year Interior Decorator and owner of Hollyhock store Suzanne Rheinstein will be signing her new book "At Home."

It is a day of elegance and beauty, filled with magnificent gardens, creative and interesting design, delicious food, and high spirits. This is the day that the Friends of Robinson Gardens have been preparing for all year and the only day that they open the doors of the Virginia Robinson Estate and invite their guests to enjoy a garden party in the style that Virginia Robinson herself gave one hundred years ago.
Garden Tour florist Marc Byrd is featured in the January 2011 issue of "Town and Country."Interior designer Suzanne Rheinstein's new book "At Home: A Style for Today with Things from the Past" is featured in the November 2010 issue of "Ellle Decor."

Note: Tickets will be mailed prior to the event. Tickets are non-refundable. The Garden Tour will occur regardless of weather conditions.
2011 "... into the garden" - Event Ticket - $200 / guest
Featured: Virginia Robinson Gardens and five private gardens on the Westside of Los Angeles in their May splendor; Floral and Room Exhibits by local designers in the Robinson Home; a Boutique with local vendors set up on the tennis court; and a Luncheon-Tea served throughout the day on the lawn and in the Italianate pool pavilion. Transportation is not included.
2011 "... into the garden" - VIP Tour Ticket - $40 / guest
This ticket is offered in addition to the event ticket. Guests will board vans in the morning from the Robinson Gardens (between 9:15 and 9:45 am) and will visit the five additional private gardens with their assigned group led by a docent. The group will return about 12:30 pm to the Robinson Estate to enjoy the beautifully decorated home, lunch and shopping.
2011 "... into the garden" - Concierge Tour Package - $750 / guest
Special arrangements have been made for groups of two or more to meet at a nearby private club. Guests will be picked up by a town car or limo to be escorted to the featured gardens and historic Virginia Robinson Estate. At the Robinson Gardens a reserved lunch table will be awaiting for the guests with their own attendant. Friends of Robinson Gardens ambassadors will be around to guide and enhance the visit while guests are browsing the Exhibits and Boutique. The chauffeur will be waiting at the front entrance at the guests' convenience to return them to the initial destination.
