As Prince William and Kate prepare to embark on their whirlwind visit to the City of Angels, we’d like to offer the world’s favourite newlyweds a real estate tour of our favorite neighbourhoods.
Beverly Hills: The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge will kick off their L.A. tour hobnobbing with up and coming entrepeneurs in Beverly Hills. This affluent city has been home to entertainment moguls and stars since silent film stars Douglas Fairbanks and Mary Pickford hired starchitect Wallace Neff to remodel their 56 acre estate here in the early 1920s. Pickfair as the estate was coined, was remodeled in the English Manor Style, filled with period furniture from early 18th century England and France. In six degrees of Royal separation, Queen Victoria’s great grandson Lord Louis Mountbatten and bride Lady Mountbatten honeymooned in Pickfair’s guest suite.
The first stop on our tour is a trophy Wallace Neff estate which features French-inspired architecture, offered at $14,995,000. City Council adopted an adaptive reuse ordinance, easing restrictions to develop condos, apartments, and lofts in commercial spaces. As the Royal Couple tours the new downtown, they may stop at this 3,960 square foot condo located on the top floor of a 23 story architectural midrise. The unit features breathtaking skyline and mountain views from most rooms.
Venice: The couple will kick off Sunday with a visit to Inner City Arts, an art program which helps disadvantaged and homeless children before heading to a war veterans event at Sony Studios which is located in Culver City. Neighboring Venice is home to some pretty swanky artists digs, many set on canals.
We pay tribute to the couple’s loving relationship with a stop on Venice’s Amoroso Place. This Craftsman style home priced at $2,695,000 would be the perfect stateside retreat for the darling pair. We think the former Miss Middleton would love the charming front porch.
