Actress Rose McGowan, most remembered as a sultry sister on the witch-themed sitcom, “Charmed,” is ready to sever her Los Feliz real estate ties and has recently put her romantic, Spanish-style villa on the market.
Listed for $1,749,000 back in 2004, The Real Estalker uncovered that Ms. McGowan scooped up the 4,278-sq ft abode after only one day on the market. It must have been a hot real estate commodity because records show she paid $1,850,000 to make the house her own. Asking price for the home is $1,849,000 – just $1,000 less than her purchase price (ouch!)
The 37-year-old actress isn’t alone in feeling pocket-book pain when it comes to a Los Angeles real estate investment. According to Zillow Real Estate Market Reports, Los Angeles home values are down 2.1 percent since November 2010; Los Feliz home values are down 5.3 percent. Not to mention the median list price in Los Feliz is down 13 percent year-over-year.
McGowan’s Los Feliz home was originally built in 1928. The gated and walled estate features a spacious master suite with private balcony, 3 additional bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, a large formal dining room, gourmet kitchen, and a cozy patio in the back. In addition to vaulted beamed ceilings, peg-and-groove hardwood floors, and large, arched windows, there are period fixtures and finishes throughout, giving this home unique character, reminiscent of the historic streets of Spain.
