But after deciding her sprawling Beverly Hills mansion was 'too much' for a single woman she has now put it on the market for $42million.
Newly released photos advertising the property show just what bidders can expect for their money - with shots showing stunning city views, a game room, Japanese spa, powder room, and office.

Aniston marked her 40th birthday in 2009 by moving into the decadent property, which also includes a Koi pond running through the entrance hall, a swimming pool with a cabana, five bedrooms and 8.5 bathrooms.
The Just Go With It star spent more than two years renovating that 9,000 square foot home in the hills above Sunset Boulevard after purchasing it in 2006 for $13.5 million.
But on a recent trip to London, Aniston, who is currently single, decided the property was 'too much' for a person living on her own.

She said: 'I couldn’t sleep and I sort of had one of those moments where I really needed to simplify.

‘My life needs to be simplified and clear out the clutter. And along with that thought came, I should sell my house.
'I had the realisation that this is just too much for me, I’m not this person.’
Aniston's alterations to the mansion included smart house technology, a biometric security system for both her wine cellar and jewellery cabinet, and a 'two-in-one kitchen' that hides a professional catering kitchen behind the main one.
And just last year the actress raved about the Zen influenced home, telling Architectural Digest it felt 'like a hug' and 'vibrates with the love that created it.'
Aniston named the property Ohana, in homage to the Hawaiian idea of extended family, and completely overhauled it with the help of designer Stephen Shadley.
Aniston is ready to get away from the prying eye of Hollywood and has set her sights on the Big Apple. ‘I am looking for little spots in New York City to go back home.
'There are all sorts of things that are going to be happening in the near future so I’m excited.
'I don’t know what they are but that’s the fun part.’
Rumours swirled around which apartment would tempt Aniston into making the East Coast her home.
It has now been reported that she has purchased not one but two neighbouring apartments which she plans to turn into a 2,700 square foot duplex in the West Village.

According to the Daily News the apartments, on the 17th and 18th floors of 299 West 12th Street, feature 'huge casement windows and doors from every room to a beautifully planted roof terrace with panoramic north, south, east and west views of the New York Harbour to the Empire State Building and more'.
Although spacious by New York City standards the apartments, at 3,000 square feet, will be a more manageable space for Aniston.

I'm laughing at the Great British being so in awe of this house. It is endearing, all the wows and oh my goshes. I live in the Hamptons and, ok, not all our houses are as sprawling as Jens but notwithstanding they are equally luxurious. I actually have the make up mirror that she has in my bedroom so I guess I'm living like the stars LOL I always say that I wish that the English could see how most Americans live because it would change their aspirations and ideals and they would not just focus on tv, fast food and alcohol. I like Jen, love her outlook on life and admire her fashion sense, so I was expecting to rave about her house. Hate it. Absolutely hate it. Not one single thing about it I'd have in my own home. Well, the kitchen is impressive, but all that chrome - nope, not one thing...
