Barry Manilow Re-lists Malibu Hideout With Price Drop
Barry Manilow is back in the game — at Radio City Music Hall and on the Malibu real estate market.
Not bad for the spike-haired crooner whose stellar concert performances have produced a loyal following with decades of hit-making music.
The man who made “Mandy” — a love song about a dog — an indelible part of pop music has re-listed his contemporary-style home in Malibu for $6.950 million. That’s a pretty steep drop from the $10.9 million Manilow first listed the beachfront compound back in 2009. But after a few years, four price drops and — most startling, and a health scare earlier this year — perhaps the fan-favorite singer is more eager to finalize a sale.
The news of the Malibu re-list comes as Manilow was performing in New York, where he’s making up three shows that had been canceled in February due to health issues. According to reports, Manilow was still undergoing physical therapy after undergoing hip surgery.
On April 30, 2012, Manilow posted a picture of the Radio City venue on his Facebook page, hours before he took the stage at that famous venue. He was scheduled to perform May 1 and 2, and appeared eager to be back in action.
Meanwhile, back in Los Angeles, Manilow’s Malibu home is ready for action, too. The property contains a main house with four bedrooms and walls of glass overlooking the Pacific Ocean. There is also a guest house across a private courtyard that offers additional living space. Manilow’s retreat has been noted for its high fences, assuring privacy, and its location on the uber-desirable Malibu Road.
It’s not the Copa Cabana, but it’s a pretty sweet spot — now at a pretty reasonable price.
