Award-Winning Greenleaf Gourmet Chopshop Brings Its Fresh, Healthy Made-to-Order Meals to Corporate Clientele for a Convenient, Affordable Lunch or Dinner
LOS ANGELES, CA--(Marketwire - August 16, 2010) - Greenleaf Gourmet Chopshop, an award-winning organic restaurant in Los Angeles, excitedly announces the August 16th opening of its second location. The new Century City restaurant brings fast, healthy meals to the area's largely corporate clientele.
Greenleaf -- a gourmet salad eatery serving made-to-order specialty salads, sandwiches and wraps -- quickly became a hit after opening its flagship Beverly Hills organic restaurant in 2008. Named one of the city's best new restaurants by Los Angeles magazine and voted Best Healthy Lunch in the 2009 Best of the LA HOTLIST contest, Greenleaf Gourmet Chopshop serves premium dishes prepared with the freshest organic and locally grown ingredients to support a healthier, more balanced lifestyle.
"We're extremely excited about the opening of our second Greenleaf location," says Owner Jonathan Rollo. "We can now make eating fresh, healthier meals affordable and convenient for Century City's busy professionals."
The new Century City restaurant features unique indoor and patio dining in a 2,400-square-foot eco-friendly environment. Locally made bamboo wood tables, chairs made from sustainably grown wood, energy-efficient lighting and appliances, tempered and tinted glass to reduce solar heat gain and air conditioning load, and zero-VOC paints are among the many environmentally-friendly initiatives utilized in this "modern food stand."
In addition to restaurant dining, Greenleaf offers quick take-out, available for curbside pick-up on Century Park East, as well as bicycle delivery from Olympic to Santa Monica Boulevard and west to Century Park West. Greenleaf will also extend its popular private party and corporate catering in Los Angeles areas through this new Century City location. Both the lunch and catering menu can be viewed online.
About Greenleaf Gourmet Chopshop:
Greenleaf Gourmet Chopshop's new Century City restaurant, open Monday - Friday 10:30 am - 6:00 pm, is located at 1888 Century Park East in Los Angeles. Cameron Diaz is home's star owner du jour
Roger Moore and Candice Bergen were among the previous owners of the Beverly Hills Post Office Spanish hacienda.

Even for Los Angeles, it's an impressive star-studded cast. Roger Moore owned the Beverly Hills Post Office Spanish hacienda in the '80s and '90s, then Candice Bergen bought it, and now the new owner is Cameron Diaz. The property was quietly shopped around to agents as a pocket listing for $10.25 million, but the sales price has not yet been reported on the L.A. County Tax Assessor's website. Occupying about 3 acres in a gated community, the compound has a 5,000-square-foot main house with three bedrooms and four bathrooms and a 2,000-square-foot guesthouse with three bedrooms and two bathrooms, according to online marketing information. Interior details include beamed ceilings, arched windows and arched passageways between rooms.
Brick defines the alfresco dining area and surrounds the swimming pool and spa. Sweeping stairs lead down to an expansive lawn. There are fruit trees, a tennis court and a gazebo beside a stream.
When Bergen bought the property from Moore in 1996 for $3.4 million, it had only 1.5 acres of land, Times archives indicate. Bergen expanded the property and renovated the 1949 estate, which was featured in Architectural Digest.Diaz, 37, starred in "Knight and Day" (2010), "My Sister's Keeper" (2009) and "Something About Mary" (1998).
The Emmy-winning Bergen, 64, was in "Boston Legal" (2004-08) and "Murphy Brown" (1988-98).
Moore, 82, owned the estate for about a decade. He played secret agent 007 in seven of the James Bond films and starred on the TV series "The Saint" (1962-69).

President Obama's motorcade passed back through Beverly Hills at 8:05pm on Monday night as he returned from a function in Hancock Park.
Olympic Blvd has now re-opened - traffic chaos had unfolded on the Westside since about 5pm.
All lanes of Olympic Blvd had been closed between Century City and Hancock Park - between Century Park East and Western Ave.
The motorcade first passed through Beverly Hills at around 6pm.
Motorists had also been creeping along major streets like Santa Monica and Sunset boulevards, according to a Beverly Hills Police Department dispatcher.
The Los Angeles Police Department and Metro did not release other specifics of street closures, citing a request from the Secret Service for security reasons.
Signs were posted at bus stops on closed streets to advise riders where to go, Metro's Gayle Anderson said.
Obama was in Hancock Park at the home of television producer John Wells at two fundraisers for the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee.House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-San Francisco, was also scheduled to speak at the events benefiting the official campaign arm of Democrats in the House of Representatives.
Tickets were $2,500 per person for the cocktail reception.
The cost to be a co-host is $30,400 per couple, which includes the cocktail reception, a photo with Obama and a co-host dinner.
Co-hosts for the event include director Steven Spielberg, entertainer Barbra Streisand, DreamWorks Animation Chief Executive Officer Jeffrey Katzenberg, producer-director J.J. Abrams, Warner Bros Entertainment President and Chief Operating Officer Alan Horn and Tom Unterman, founding partner of the Santa Monica-based venture capital firm Rustic Canyon Partners.
Wells' credits include "The West Wing,' "ER' and "China Beach.'
He is president of the Writers Guild of America.
Air Force One arrived at Los Angeles International Airport about 30 minutes ahead of schedule this afternoon.
The president was taken by helicopter to the Brentwood area and then to the Beverly Hilton.
This will be Obama's fourth trip to the Southland since taking office, the last three of which have been exclusively for political fundraising.

Beverly Hills Fashion's Night Out takes shape
August 16, 2010 | 1:15 pmMore details are coming in about FNO in the 90210.
Sixty-seven retailers have signed up to participate in the global fashion spend-a-thon known as Fashion's Night Out, on Sept. 10 from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. We already knew the centerpiece would be a Ferris wheel in the 200 block of Rodeo Drive (free rides with a receipt from participating stores), but now we're getting details about the carnival of events too.
At Giorgio Armani, Samuel L. Jackson will host an exhibition of his favorite red carpet looks over the years. Chanel will be offering free manicures with the new collection of polishes, Les Khakis de Chanel, and Lacoste is staging a Wii tennis tournament.
There will be no shortage of parties. Valentino is having a casino night. DJs Super Mash Bros. will be spinning at Emporio Armani, while DJ Rick Khan has been tapped for Roberto Cavalli's bash. Gearys will host a "gentleman's lounge" with Scotch, beer, hors d'oeuvres and the hottest models (of Rolex and Patek Phillipe timepieces).
Tods is debuting a limited-edition G-bag especially for the event, and Salvatore Ferragamo will be celebrating the first collection from new creative director Massimiliano Giornetti, with the launch of his W-bag. Mikimoto will be featuring pearl-stringing demonstrations, and Coach will have artists on hand to customize merchandise.

Beyond Counting Blessings
Being Truly ThankfulIn a deep state of gratitude we recognize the purity of the experience of being, in and of itself. Often when we practice being thankful, we go through the process of counting our blessings, acknowledging the wonderful people, things and places that make up our reality. While it is fine to be grateful for the good fortune we have accumulated, true thankfulness stems from a powerful comprehension of the gift of simply being alive, and when we feel it, we feel it regardless of our circumstances. In this deep state of gratitude, we recognize the purity of the experience of being, in and of itself, and our thankfulness is part and parcel of our awareness that we are one with this great mystery that is life. It is difficult for most of us to access this level of consciousness as we are very caught up in the ups and downs of our individual experiences in the world. The thing to remember about the world, though, is that it ebbs and flows, expands and contracts, gives and takes, and is by its very nature somewhat unreliable. If we only feel gratitude when it serves our desires, this is not true thankfulness. No one is exempt from the twists and turns of fate, which may, at any time, take the possessions, situations, and people we love away from us. Ironically, it is sometimes this kind of loss that awakens us to a thankfulness that goes deeper than just being grateful when things go our way. Illness and near-miss accidents can also serve as wake-up calls to the deeper realization that we are truly lucky to be alive. We do not have to wait to be shaken to experience this state of being truly thankful for our lives. Tuning in to our breath and making an effort to be fully present for a set period of time each day can do wonders for our ability to connect with true gratitude. We can also awaken ourselves with the intention to be more aware of the unconditional generosity of the life force that flows through us regardless of our circumstances.Top 10 DailyOM Courses:
