Cadillac has just unwrapped its ultra-cool new Urban Luxury concept at the 2010 Los Angeles Auto Show. The concept behind this show piece is advanced urban commuting and the ULC executes this perfectly with a small package that is high on luxury – even including a Rolls-Royce-esque umbrella in the doors.
Its size is rather small to make this new concept suitable for urban environments. However, the automaker claims that four adults can be seated properly in the small Caddy, with room to spare.
“While small in size, this concept is an exploration of what Cadillac could be in the future, as the brand continues to focus on redefining industry standards for advanced vehicle design and integrated technology,” said Don Butler, vice president for Cadillac marketing.
The Urban Luxury Concept comes with a wheelbase of just over 97 inches, while measuring an overall length equaling 151 inches, width equaling 68.1 inches and a height of just under 57 inches.
The interior is trimmed in refined materials and is cleverly integrated with next-generation interactive technology. Traditional gauges are replaced by touch-pad screens and projected readouts and serve as the climate and audio system controls. It also comes equipped with a hide-away right-hand touch pad, while the back of the folding passenger seat can convert itself into an Orbit Baby SmartHub.
The Urban Luxury Concept will come equipped with 1.0-liter turbocharged three cylinder engine. GM claims that the Cadillac Urban Luxury Concept will provide a theoretical mileage of 56 mpg in the city and 65 mpg on the highway.
