The Legendary Beverly Hills Hotel Turns 100
The landmark Beverly Hills Hotel & Bungalows in Los Angeles, also lovingly referred to as The Pink Palace, turns 100 this year and celebrates with a program of activities and special promotions befitting this momentous occasion. Since opening its doors on May 12, 1912, the hotel, its beloved Polo Lounge restaurant and private bungalows have hosted the likes of Marilyn Monroe, Elizabeth Taylor, Howard Hughes and royalty from all over the world.
The tribute begins with a life-size photo gallery exhibit in the hotel’s lobby, capturing memorable moments in various locations throughout the hotel during the past 100 years.
The Polo Lounge and Bar Nineteen12 both offer the “These Walls Are Talking” cocktail menu, featuring cocktails inspired by celebrity guests who made an indelible mark during their stay, and each week during the year, diners at one lucky table at each of the hotel’s dining venues will enjoy “Pop-Up 1912 Pricing” as their check is randomly selected and converted to 1912 pricing for that one meal. The book, The Beverly Hills Hotel and Bungalows – The First 100 Years, written by Robert S. Anderson, the great grandson of the hotel’s original owner, Margaret Anderson, will launch at the hotel in May. The book, a sentimental and anecdotal look at the hotel and its guests through the years, introduces a collection of never-before-seen photos.
Special 100th anniversary hotel and spa packages including The Centennial Celebration, Little Legends Family Package and The Pink Palace Manicure and Pedicure, have been created to allow guests to join in celebrating this iconic property.
