Last updated at 10:23 AM on 4th January 2011Drew Barrymore picked up quite a bargain in the New Year's sales.
The actress negotiated a $1million discount off her new home in Santa Barbara, bagging the luxury mansion for a discounted $7million.
The Mediterranean-style villa sits in the exclusive enclave of Montecito, where homes start at more than $2million.

Landscaped: The shaded patio area overlooks the gardens and will be the perfect spot to unwind with a glass of local wine
Drew is moving north of Los Angeles to one of the wealthiest neighbourhoods in America.

Amongst her new neighbours, she will find chatshow host Oprah Winfrey, and fellow actors John Cleese, Kirk Douglas, Steve Martin, Rob Lowe and Billy Baldwin.
Drew's new 72-year-old 3.5-acre estate boasts floor to ceiling windows in the stately dining room, overlooking a Roman-style pool and landscaped gardens.

Helping Drew take advantage of the long Californian summers, she will be able to sun herself under a wide tiled terrace, overlooking the surrounding wine country and Santa Ynez mountains.
With six bedrooms and five bathrooms, Drew can have plenty of guests to stay at her new home.
Going The Distance star Drew hasn't always been lucky with her property investments.
Back in 2001 her Beverly Hills home was destroyed by fire, leaving her staying in a rental for a year.
The 35-year-old now splits her time between her $8million home in the Hollywood Hills with panoramic views of LA and another in Manhattan.

Drew will be living in the house alone, after finally ending her on-off relationship with Justin Long earlier this year.
But that shouldn't prove a problem for Drew, who recently told Harper's Bazaar: 'I was good in my early teens, and then I got really bad at being alone for like 10 years.
'And then for the last decade I've developed such a love of my independence that I have to go, "Okay, you've had dinner by yourself three nights in a row, now you have to see your friends."'

Technically, her new neighbors are miles away from this property. I, however, live near this home (in a virtual shack, I might add! There ARE other people that live here besides Oprah and Jeff Bridges!!) This is a lovely home and I hope she enjoys living here. It's a truly lovely area and she seems like a down to earth person.
