New Information: COYOTE ATTACKS DOG ON WALK WITH OWNER

Posted: 20 Dec 2010 10:19 AM PST

The below references the same coyote that recently attacked a dog on a walk with its owner near the 11800 Block of Bellagio Road:

We have seen a coyote several times this week near the 11800 Block of Bellagio Road . He has hung out in this same area off and on over the past few months. The coyote hides in the bushes across from my house, and tries to attack dogs as they walk by. On Sunday night, he tried to take my neighbor’s dog at around 8:45 p.m. on the east side of Bellagio. The coyote was very aggressive in stalking my neighbor who held his dog after the dog was bitten by the coyote. My neighbor chased the coyote away, but the coyote turned around and followed my neighbor after he had initially been chased off. Last night, he was in my front yard on the drive way near our front door at around 9:30 p.m.. I have two young children, and two dogs and am growing increasingly concerned about this problem. Also, last year, we lost our cat to a coyote in the same area across the street from our house.
