LOS ANGELES, Jan. 9 (UPI) -- Actor Jack Black has bought a seven-bedroom house in the Los Angeles area, paying almost $6 million, a real estate site reports.
The seller was Michael Balzary, the Red Hot Chili Peppers bass player who also goes by the name Flea, the Los Angeles Times reports, citing Redfin.com. The property went for $5.965 million after Flea paid $3.85 million in 2008.
Real estate agents say Black, 41, has been house hunting in Los Angeles for about two years.
The two-story house near Los Feliz has three bedrooms in addition to the seven bedrooms and was originally built in 1915.
It has a swimming pool and has been updated with such modern amenities as solar panels on the roof.
Black, 41, attracted attention in 2000 with a supporting role in "High Fidelity" and has gone on to star in "School of Rock" in 2003. He is currently on screen in the title role in "Gulliver's Travels."
Black is married to Tania Haden, daughter of jazz bassist Charlie Haden, and has two children.
