Does Oprah have her eye on the most expensive house for sale in America?
A rumor within Los Angles real estate circles got whipped up again recently that Oprah is looking at the $150 million Holmby Hills mansion owned by Candy Spelling, the widow of Charlie's Angels creator Aaron Spelling and mother of reality star Tori Spelling.
RumorFix hasn't been able to confirm the rumor, but it would make sense that the billionaire would want a place closer to her Los Angeles based company, the OWN network. She has a $52 million dollar estate in Montecito, California, but that's a 1 1/2 hour drive from her Los Angeles offices.
Oprah can certainly afford the pricey home, but a realtor who deals with multi-million dollar listings tells us "That's the wrong house for Oprah."
Here are the reasons RumorFix was given:
- It's a family home with 14 rooms with 56,500 square feet -- "She doesn't need that for her and Stedman," says our source.
- It's interior is dated -- "The decor is 30 years old," the realtor says.
- "It needs $25 million dollars in renovations," the realtor estimates.
