LOS ANGELES — The Los Angeles Boat Show, which begins Thursday at the Los Angeles Convention Center, has grown to become one of the largest and most diverse consumer boat shows, occupying acres of exhibits, all indoors, and featuring hundreds of new boats from 6′ to 60′.
The selection is staggering — hundreds of boats encompassing acres of exhibit space, all under one roof including family runabouts, fishing boats, cruisers, ski boats, performance sportboats, sailboats, pontoons, luxury motoryachts, inflatables, personal watercraft plus the latest in marine engines/propulsion systems and trailers. The Los Angeles Boat Show is also known for its giant marine mega-mall of accessory products and boating related services ranging from water skis and wakeboards to hi-tech electronics and anchors.
Featured this year are Yamaha WaveRunners and boats, which are the best selling watercraft in the entire PWC industry and the best-selling boats in the 20-25’ open-bow category. Yamaha’s 24-foot line for 2011 includes the 242 Limited S, 242 Limited, AR240 and SX240. Yamaha’s 21-foot boats for 2011 include the SX210 and the AR210.
New at the boat show are the Yamaha VXR and VXS WaveRunners, the industry’s first low priced, ultra high performance personal watercraft. The all new Yamaha VXR and VXS WaveRunners feature Yamaha’s 1812cc 4 cylinder, 4 stroke marine engine, combined with an ultra lightweight hull and deck made from NanoXcel®, Yamaha’s exclusive material that is engineered using nanotechnology to be stronger and lighter than anything else in the industry. These WaveRunners set a new benchmark for performance, agility and fun on the water and they are the only high performance watercraft starting under $11,000 MSRP.
If you’re a serious recreational boater, or perhaps new to the sport, there’s no better place to acquaint yourself with the Southern California boating lifestyle.
