Los Angeles Marathon 2011 route and street closures | 89.3 KPCC -Los Angeles-Platinum Triangle-Beverly Hills Real Estate-Bel Air-Holmby Hills-Sunset Strip-Hollywood Hills-Luxury Estates-Mansions-Celebrity Homes-Homes For Sale-Listings-Realtor-Real Estate

Find out about the route for the 26th annual Los Angeles Marathon and see details maps and a list of streets that will be closed Sunday to make way for the marathon.

Street closures will begin as early at 3:15 a.m. for the early stages of the race, with most Los Angeles streets expected to be reopened by 3 p.m. Additional street closures are expected in the cities of West Hollywood, Beverly Hills and Santa Monica.

In Echo Park, Chinatown and Downtown, from 3:15 a.m. to 10:20 a.m., the following streets will be closed:



  • Elysian Park Avenue between Dodger Stadium and Sunset Boulevard;
  • Sunset Boulevard/Cesar Chavez Avenue between Douglas St. and Alameda
    St. (may be closed to Vignes St., if necessary);
  • Temple Street between Alameda St. and Glendale Blvd.;
  • First Street between Alameda St. and Hope St.;
  • Main Street between Second St. and Alameda St.;
  • Spring Street between Cesar Chavez Ave. and Second St.;
  • Broadway between Ord St. and Second St.;
  • Hill Street between Ord St. and Second St.;
  • Olive Street between Second St. and First St.;
  • Grand Avenue between Second St. and Cesar Chavez Ave.;
  • Figueroa Street between First St. and Alpine St.;
  • Beaudry Avenue between First St. and Sunset Blvd.;
  • East Edgeware Road between Temple St. and Bellevue Ave.;
  • Bellevue Avenue between E. Edgeware Rd. and Glendale Blvd.; and
  • Glendale Boulevard between Scott Ave. and Temple St.

  • Between 3:45 and 10:52 a.m., the following streets will be closed:

    • Parkman Avenue between Glendale Blvd. and Sunset Blvd.;
    • Sunset Boulevard between Echo Park Ave. and Hollywood Blvd.;
    • Alvarado Street between Glendale Blvd. and Temple St.;
    • Santa Monica Boulevard between Hoover St. and Sunset Blvd.;
    • Griffith Park Boulevard between Effie St. and Sunset Blvd.;
    • Fountain Avenue between Myra Ave. and Virgil Ave.;
    • Hillhurst Avenue/Virgil Avenue between Franklin Ave. and Fountain
      Ave. (may be closed to Santa Monica Blvd., if necessary); and
    • Sunset Boulevard between Vermont Ave. and Virgil Ave.

    • In Hollywood and West Hollywood, from 3:55 to 11:24 a.m., the following streets will be closed:



      • Hollywood Boulevard between Sunset Blvd. and La Brea Ave.;
      • Vermont Avenue between Sunset Blvd. and Franklin Ave.;
      • Normandie Avenue between Sunset Blvd. and Franklin Ave.;
      • Western Avenue between Sunset Blvd. and Franklin Ave.;
      • Wilton Place between Sunset Blvd. and Franklin Ave.;
      • Bronson Avenue between Sunset Blvd. and Franklin Ave.;
      • Gower Street between Sunset Blvd. and Franklin Ave.;
      • Vine Street between Sunset Blvd. and Franklin Ave.; and
      • Cahuenga Boulevard between Sunset Blvd. and Franklin Ave.

      • From 4:05 a.m. to 12:12 p.m., the following streets will be closed:

      • Highland Avenue between Santa Monica Blvd. and Franklin Ave.;
      • Orange Drive between Hollywood Blvd. and Sunset Blvd.;
      • Sunset Boulevard between Highland Ave. and Crescent Heights Blvd.;
      • La Brea Avenue between Hollywood Blvd. and De Longpre Ave.;
      • Fairfax Avenue between Hollywood Blvd. and Sunset Blvd.; and
      • Laurel Canyon Boulevard/Crescent Heights Boulevard between Hollywood
        Blvd. and Sunset Blvd.

      • In Beverly Hills, Century City, Westwood and West L.A., from 4:20 a.m. to 1 p.m., the following streets will be closed:



        • Doheny Drive between Beverly Blvd. and Burton Way;
        • Third Street between Robertson Blvd. and Doheny Drive; and
        • Burton Way between Robertson Blvd. and Doheny Drive.

          From 4:45 a.m. to 2:04 p.m., the following streets will be closed:


          • Santa Monica Boulevard (north side of street - westbound direction
            only) between Moreno Drive and Sawtelle Blvd.;
          • Beverly Glen Boulevard between Wilshire Blvd. and Santa Monica Blvd.;
          • Westwood Boulevard between Wilshire Blvd. and Santa Monica Blvd.;
          • Veteran Avenue between Wilshire Blvd. and Santa Monica Blvd.;
          • Sepulveda Boulevard between Wilshire Blvd. and Santa Monica Blvd.
            (may be closed to Olympic Blvd., if necessary);
          • Cotner Avenue between Santa Monica Blvd. and Ohio Ave.; and
          • Ohio Avenue between Veteran Ave. and Corinth Ave.

          • From 5 a.m. to 2:52 p.m., the following streets will be closed:

          • San Vicente Boulevard between Wilshire Blvd. and Montana Ave.;
          • San Vicente Boulevard (south side of street - eastbound direction
            only) between Montana Ave. and 26th St.;
          • Barrington Avenue between Sunset Blvd. and Wilshire Blvd.;
          • Montana Avenue between Bundy Drive and Barrington Ave.; and
          • Kenter Avenue/Bundy Drive between Sunset Blvd. and Wilshire Blvd.
