Matt Damon pays $15 million for Pacific Palisades manse
Actor Matt Damon may have been a neighbor to "Good Will Hunting" pal Ben Affleck for several months now, but his purchase of an estate in Pacific Palisades for $15 million just appeared on the Multiple Listing Service after the first of the year.
Damon's contemporary three-level house features 35-foot vaulted mahogany ceilings, an atrium, a floating stairway, an office and a gym. Including staff quarters, there are seven bedrooms, 10 bathrooms and 13,508 square feet of living space. The more than a half-acre property includes a swimming pool, a basketball court and a five-car garage.
Damon, 42, co-wrote "Hunting" with Affleck and shared an Oscar for the screenplay in 1998. They became friends growing up in Cambridge, Mass. He stars in the current film "Promised Land" and the upcoming HBO biopic "Behind the Candelabra." He also starred in "The Adjustment Bureau" (2011), "True Grit" (2010) and the Jason Bourne film trilogy (2002-7).
Fran Flanagan of Coldwell Banker's Pacific Palisades office and Susan Dishell-Abbott of Prudential's Brentwood office were the listing agents, according to the MLS.
