Family Holiday Fun

Celebrate on Cañon Drive

Thu, Dec 9, 5 pm - Cañon Drive, Between Wilshire & Santa Moncia, Beverly Hills

This family-friendly event starts at 5:00 pm with face painting, a scavenger hunt and live entertainment all along Cañon Drive. An adorable and adoptable doggie parade, sponsored by The Amanda Foundation, will brighten several spots on Cañon including Beverly Cañon Gardens. Merriment is made at 6:00 pm when the Beverly Hills High School Madrigals treat all to a holiday carol concert in Beverly Cañon Gardens. Keep your spirits high as you stroll Cañon from 6:00 – 9:00 pm, slipping in and out of restaurants and boutiques along the way to sip, sample, enjoy special deals and pick up tips for holiday decorating and entertaining.

Sat & Sun, Dec 11 & 12, 18 & 19 - 11 am, noon, or 1 pm - Beverly Hills trolley tours (pick up is at the southeast corner of Rodeo Drive and Dayton Way)

The dynamic duo is back – Santa and Mrs. Claus return to Beverly Hills this year, making several appearances on the Beverly Hills Trolley and at The Paley Center for Media. Trolley tickets are $10/adult and $5/child (under 12).

The community-based Beverly Hills Rose Parade Committee is seeking volunteers to help decorate the City's first entry into the New Year's Day parade in more than 20 years. Helpers ages 12 and up are needed Dec. 26-29. Call (310) 385-0679 to volunteer. The float, themed "Beverly Hills -- City of Dreams Come True," will showcase the City before a television audience of more than 1 billion people!

Total Lunar Eclipse Viewing

Mon, Dec 20, 8 pm - 1:30 am - Griffith Observatory, 2800 East Observatory Road, Los Angeles

Griffith Observatory celebrates the last total lunar eclipse of the decade by opening its doors to the public from 8 p.m. to 1:30 a.m. Los Angeles is perfectly situated for viewing this lunar eclipse. The eclipse occurs on the longest night of the year, and its maximum is only about fifteen hours before winter begins. It is also the highest in the sky that a totally eclipsed Moon has appeared from Los Angeles in 1,591 years and it will not be this high again for at least another millennium.Admission is FREE.
