President Barack Obama will be in LA Thursday for a fundraiser and dinner.

Map: Traffic Conditions

After landing at LAX, Obama will be at Sony Pictures Studio in Culver City at about 4:30 p.m. for a fundraiser. He is scheduled to be at the Tavern in Brentwood for dinner and another fundraiser after a rally on the Sony lot.

Details regarding street closures have not been released. UCLA officials released a statement that said the visit "could cause heavier-than-usual traffic at and around UCLA."

A previous Westside visit brought major problems for commuters. If the memory isn't fresh, LAist captured the experience with a screengrab of a city traffic map on the day Obama visited.

During the August 2010 visit, drivers fumed over street closures for the presidential motorcade in the Westside and Hancock Park areas.

Motorists were stopped on major streets. Some searched for alternate routes, which led to more frustration, which led City Councilman Bill Rosendahl, chairman of the council's Transportation Committee, to summon Los Angeles Police Department and Department of Transportation officials to discuss the August traffic situation and review procedures for rerouting traffic to accommodate dignitaries.

In October, Obama stopped by USC for a voter rally. Portions of streets near USC were closed for that visit.

During his West Coast trip, Obama is trying to raise support for his deficit plan and money for his re-election campaign.

He attended a town hall hosted by Facebook Wednesday. The president's Facebook page has more than 19 million fans. He is the first president to visit the company's Palo Alto headquarters.

Tickets for the Culver City event are $250 for general admission, $2,500 for VIP seating and $100  for those under 40 years old.

It's Obama's sixth LA-area visit since he was elected president.

LA & Beverly Hills Prepares for Presidential Traffic | Having been through this before, my advice is to stay home and don't even try to get around Beverly Hills or the Westside tomorrow.
